This site hosts information on the ASPECT Study, Assessment of plaque composition, dynamic biomechanics, and therapeutic outcomes in subjects with implanted vascular devices. This proposed study is currently under development, and is a collaboration between interested participants from commercial, academic, clinical, and regulatory backgrounds.
The idea for this study came from conversations that began at the March 2008 FDA / NIH / NSF Workshop on Computational Methods for Cardiovascular Devices, and continued at the August 2008 Cleveland Clinic Stent Summit. At both meetings, participants recognized a lack of publicly available and relevant data on biomechanics boundary conditions.
The study intends to follow the principles of open source development, with all contributions shared freely with the community. This website, hosted by "Google Sites" is the public home for all discussions and information relating to the project.
This website is freely available for "read only" access. To add or edit pages on this site, please contact lisa.lim@openmedsystems.org. Please click Contact information to find out more about the ASPECT family. |
